Taiwan Teddy Bear Creative Award vol.2

A little bit more than three weeks ago the results have been posted on the webiste of the Taiwan Teddy Bear Association. I could hardly believe it when I read that my little George won the 1st place award, because the other nomianted bears were truly outstanding. Countless times I went  back to their website to check if it was really true that I won, but since Monday I can be sure:
George finally returned from his trip to Taiwan toghether with a beautiful award and a certificate that clearly states that he won the 1st place in his category. In the package, there was also a lovely calendar.
I would like to thank the Taiwan Teddy Bear Association for this wonderful early Christmas present, for organising this great competition and for taking such good care of little George.
I would also like to thank the judges and all the collectors and bear enthusiasts who voted for George.
I would like to send a very special thank you to George Clooney for being such a great model for teddy bears and for being such an inspiration.

Taiwan Teddy Bear Creative Awards

I'm extremely delighted to inform you that my little tramp George, who already won 2nd place in the Euro-Teddy Award also received a nomination in the 2011 Taiwan Teddy Bear Creative Awards.
Currently, he is on his way to Taiwan ( I wish I could go) for the final judging.
There is also an Online-Voting and I would be very pleased if you could support him with your vote:
Taiwan Teddy Bear Creative Awards

By the way, little George was inspired by George Clooney in " O Brother Where Art Thou"

Euroteddy

I know, I know, I should have posted this earlier, but only a few days after the competition I left for India and there was simply no time, so the good news come wit a little delay.
Once again, my teddybears did extremely well in the Euro-Teddy-Award competition:
My moonbears won 1st place in the miniature undressed category and "The lady and the tramp" won 2nd place in the miniature dressed category.

Kimba, the little white lion, also going to Hugglets

Sorry for this kind of preview, I wanted to put all the pictures in one post. Unfortunately, Blogger showed some of them in the wrong directions and wouldn't accept any changes unless I put them in a separate post.

Once again, I'm sorry for this inconvenience, but I hope you will still visit me at Hugglets. You find me in hall 1, table 48.

Paloma, another little baribal for Hugglets

Tujunga, also going to Hugglets

A short Hugglets preview

I'm still working hard for Hugglets next Sunday, but here is already a short preview to give you an idea on what to expect.
There are two big news for Hugglets:
First of all, I finally managed to find a way to make nice looking claws for miniature bears that don't break, which is very important as I travel by plane.
The second news is, I finally made more girls. As a big fan of Bayern Munich I love to name my bears after their players,  so, naturally, I had almost only boys until some people reminded me that it would be nice to have some girls , too.
So, here they are and if you want to see more, please visit me at my table, hall 1, stand 48.

URSA-voting has started

http://www.bearsandbuds.com/URSA-2011/URSAAwardsbyPopularVote2011BearsandBudsTeddyBearMagazine.asp
The voting for this year's URSA-award has just started and I was so brave to enter four pieces. And here they are:
In category 1 Baby Hope, I guess I don't have to tell you about her anymore, but if you want to learn more about the real Hope and her family you can go to http://www.bearstudy.org.    -> after you have done your voting for the URSA.

In category 2 you find my second entry "Up in the Air". He was inspired by the film with George Clooney and not easy to make, so I would really appreciate if you could vote for him.

In category 11 you find my third entry "Meet me in heaven". This little polar bear was inspired by cutr Knut who recently passed away. For this bear, I re-used the pattern that I made four years back for Knut, with some improvements and a different fur.
I wanted to give Knut a happy face because now he is with his Daddy Thomas again.
My last entry for this year is Kgalagadi in category 14. She was inspired by a little cheetah I met last year in Namibia.
And now, it's time to vote:

Scharlih, another black bear

Please welcome Scharlih, another balck bear. For him, I used the same pattern as for my award winning baribal Baby Hope but as I have run out of the other fabric I had to use a different one and found this beautiful, deep black faux fur.
If you should wonder about the name: I thought it would be a nice idea ti give my baribals Native American names. Unfotunately, I couldn't find any dictionaries in our local bookstores and then I saw those other books on my shelf: Green, with gold wrtiting from my favourite author Karl May and decided to "borrow" the names from his books.
Now, Scharlih is the way Winnetou, his most popular character, used to call his white friend and bloodbrother Charley.
For more infos about Scharlih, please visit him on bearpile: http://www.bearpile.com/item/45477
